Description

Quanta 2 VST Instrument by Audio Damage

Get Audio Damage Quanta 2 from VStor.me — a 10-voice stereo granular synthesizer that handles everything from ambient textures to percussive granular design and subtractive synthesis within the same plugin.

Granular synthesis at its core means working with tiny fragments of audio — grains — and layering, repositioning, and modulating them to create sounds that bear little resemblance to the source material. Quanta 2 gives you precise control over how those grains behave: up to 100 simultaneous grains per voice, each lasting up to 1000ms, with independent control over rate, pitch, direction, shape, and length.

Audio Damage Quanta 2: Granular Synthesizer

Core Synthesis Engine

Drag and drop any WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, or Ogg file onto the granular engine and start working immediately. The grain engine is complemented by a sidecar oscillator with virtual-analog modeling and a noise generator that can be mixed directly into the grain output — so you’re not locked into purely granular textures.

Dual multi-mode filters (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch in 2-pole and 4-pole modes) handle subtractive shaping after the grain stage, making Quanta 2 a full synthesis environment rather than just a granular processor.

Modulation

Four Flexible Envelope Generators, each with up to 99 looping points and optional tempo sync. Two LFOs with custom wave shaping. A sample-and-hold module for random modulation sources. All of these route through a streamlined modulation matrix where nearly any control maps to any destination.

Expression and Tuning

Full MPE support for Seaboard, Linnstrument, Soundplane, and any other MPE controller. TUN file compatibility for custom alternate tunings.

Formats and Compatibility

Windows 10+: CLAP, VST3, AAX (64-bit DAW required)
macOS 10.14+: CLAP, VST3, AAX, AudioUnit — Universal Binary 2 (Intel and Apple M1 native)

Frequently Asked Questions

What audio file formats does Quanta 2 accept?

Quanta 2 accepts WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, and Ogg files via drag-and-drop. Multiple bit depths and sample rates are supported. You can use any recorded audio — vocals, instruments, field recordings, or existing samples — as the granular source.

Is Audio Damage Quanta 2 suitable for sound design beyond ambient textures?

Yes. The dual multi-mode filters and sidecar oscillator make it a capable subtractive synthesizer in addition to its granular engine. Combined with the modulation matrix and flexible envelopes, it handles percussive granular design, evolving pads, rhythmic grain textures, and experimental sound design equally well.

Does Quanta 2 support MPE controllers?

Yes. Quanta 2 has full MIDI Polyphonic Expression support, meaning you can control per-note pitch bend, pressure, and slide independently using MPE controllers like the Roli Seaboard, Linnstrument, or Haken Continuum.

What formats does Audio Damage Quanta 2 run in?

On Windows 10 or later: CLAP, VST3, and AAX (64-bit DAW required). On macOS 10.14 or later: CLAP, VST3, AAX, and AudioUnit. The macOS version is a Universal Binary 2 build with native Apple Silicon M1 support.
