What you get with the ELYSIUM Analog Collection

Five discrete kits — Opal, Slate, Ember, Cobalt, Obsidian — each with its own tonal center. Together they form a system. Since every kit shares the same recording chain, same session, and same engineer, layering drums from Opal and Obsidian in a single beat means they sit together naturally. As a result, there are no phase issues, no frequency masking, and no corrective EQ needed. That’s the advantage of a collection recorded as a single body of work rather than assembled from disparate sessions.

Real analog, no noise penalty

Analog gear sounds great because of harmonic saturation and gentle compression — yet it also introduces noise. Hiss from vintage consoles. Hum from unbalanced lines. The general grime of old circuitry. We kept the noise floor under control while still preserving the character. Therefore, every sample lands in your mix clean without a denoiser pass before use.

Kit-by-kit breakdown

• Opal: Bright, open transients with extended high end. Suits pop and indie arrangements that need air between the hits.
• Slate: Mid-forward and punchy. The snare cuts through dense mixes. Built for hip-hop and trap where the backbeat has to land.
• Ember: Saturated and slightly gritty. Lo-fi and R&B drum tones that barely need processing. Layer these under digital synths and you’ll hear immediate contrast.
• Cobalt: Wide stereo field with clean dynamics. Electronic and house producers will find these drums leave room for basslines and pads.
• Obsidian: Dark and sub-heavy. 808s and bass hits tuned for club systems. The low end stays focused without muddying the mix.

Each kit contains 10+ drum one-shots (kick, snare, clap, hi-hats, percussion), 5 melodic loops in WAV + MIDI, and a full FX set — risers, impacts, texture layers. That’s roughly 100 sounds per kit and 500+ total. No filler count padding.

Why record through analog gear at all?

Like most producers, I work in the box. DAWs give you instant recall, unlimited tracks, and surgical editing. However, what they struggle with is non-linearity — the subtle way a console saturates differently depending on level, the way tape grabs transients and softens them. Plugins emulate this, and some do it well, but emulation requires CPU and tuning. The ELYSIUM Analog Collection bakes that character into the source file so you can drop it in and move on.

Layering, in particular, shows this contrast. Stack a digital kick from Serum or Vital with one of these analog kicks. The digital sample provides precision and low-end extension while the analog sample adds weight and harmonic texture. Together they produce a drum hit that sounds processed — because it already is.

Tonal consistency matters

Multi-kit packs, however, usually fail at consistency. If you grab a kick from Kit A and a snare from Kit B, you’ll quickly find yourself fighting a mix that won’t glue. That’s why we recorded all five kits in one session through one signal chain. The kick on Kit Opal shares low-end weight with the kick on Kit Obsidian. The snares occupy the same frequency sweet spot. Likewise, hi-hats sit in a consistent stereo field. Mixing across kits works because the source never changed.

What’s included — complete contents

Format and DAW compatibility

At 44.1 kHz / 24-bit, these are standard WAV files. As a result, they load into Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Reason, Studio One, Bitwig — any DAW that reads WAV. MIDI files are Type 0 format and drop directly into Simpler, Drum Rack, or the Channel Rack. In other words, there’s no Kontakt, no proprietary sampler, and no extra software required. Just drag from Finder, drop into arrangement, and keep moving.

FL Studio users can drag the MIDI patterns straight into the piano roll. Ableton users load the WAVs into Simpler and the MIDI into a new clip. The process takes seconds.

Royalty-free usage

Use these sounds in commercial releases, streaming tracks, YouTube videos, sync placements — any project. No cut of royalties required and no credit line necessary. The only restriction: don’t resell or redistribute the raw WAV files as a competing sample pack. Three ways to use this collection

Most people load the one-shots and start building beats — and that works. However, here are three approaches that extract more from the kit:

Work from the construction kits. Each of the five kits includes full stems — kick, snare, hats, melody, bass, FX — on separate tracks. Drop them into your session and study how the layers interact. Then replace, re-arrange, and build your own arrangement on top of the structure. This is how a lot of working producers start tracks: with a reference framework they can modify rather than a blank grid.

Pair analog drums with digital synthesis. The ELYSIUM kits sound warm and slightly compressed because they were printed through real tape. Layer them with cold, precise synth sounds from Serum, Vital, or Pigments. That contrast — soft analog transient against clean digital tone — gives your mix depth without needing expensive outboard gear.

Start from MIDI, swap the sound. Every melodic loop comes with a MIDI file. Load the MIDI into your DAW, assign a VST from our VST collection, and replace the loop with your own patch. You keep the groove and the arrangement but rewrite the timbre.

Who this is for

This collection is for producers who prioritize tone over volume. It isn’t a 5,000-sample grab bag where you spend an hour cycling through kicks. Rather, it’s 500 sounds, each of which we selected because it works in a mix.
