Description

Klevgrand TOMOFON VST Plug-in Real Audio Synth

Get Klevgrand TOMOFON from VStor.me — a synthesizer built around Audio Models: sets of oscillating waves extracted directly from audio files and organized into pitch zones. The approach produces sounds that sit between traditional sampling and conventional synthesis.

Where a sampler plays a recording back, TOMOFON deconstructs audio into waveforms and uses them as oscillator material. Each wave within an Audio Model acts as a separate layer, similar to velocity zones — but transitions between layers and pitch zones are continuous rather than stepped, which gives the output an organic character that’s hard to replicate with standard subtractive synthesis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Audio Model in TOMOFON?

An Audio Model is TOMOFON’s term for a set of oscillating waves extracted from an audio file and organized into pitch zones. Rather than playing back a recording, TOMOFON uses these extracted waves as oscillator material, allowing smooth transitions between timbres across the keyboard range.

Can I create my own Audio Models from my own recordings?

Yes. TOMOFON includes a built-in Audio Importer that accepts monophonic audio files. You can either use the automatic one-click import to generate a playable model immediately, or manually assign waves to specific pitch zones for more precise control. Custom Audio Models can also be exported and shared.

Does TOMOFON support MPE controllers like the Roli Seaboard?

Yes. MPE support was added in version 1.2, enabling per-note pitch bend, pressure, and slide for compatible controllers including the Roli Seaboard, Linnstrument, and similar MPE devices.

What formats and operating systems does TOMOFON support?

TOMOFON runs as AU, VST, and AAX in a 64-bit host. macOS 10.10 or later is required, with Apple Silicon M1 optimization. Windows 7 SP1 or later is supported on PC.
